Recon — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-01
Recon is a browser extension that adds recent-performance stats to the FACEIT Counter-Strike matchroom. This policy explains what it does with data.
The short version
Recon collects nothing. It has no account, no server, and no analytics. Everything runs inside your browser.
What Recon accesses
When you open a FACEIT matchroom, Recon requests match and player-statistics data from FACEIT (www.faceit.com and api.faceit.com) using your existing FACEIT login, exactly as the FACEIT website itself does. It uses that data only to render the stats you see on the page.
What Recon stores
To keep the matchroom fast and within FACEIT's rate limits, Recon caches each player's computed rating locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local). This stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it any time by removing the extension.
Changing a FACEIT setting (only when you ask)
If FACEIT's own per-player stats are switched off for your account, Recon shows its own copy of them and offers a “Turn on FACEIT's” button. Only if you click it, Recon asks FACEIT to switch on “Show extended statistics” for your account — the same change as ticking that box in FACEIT's settings. Recon never changes a FACEIT setting unless you click that button, and you can turn it off again in FACEIT's settings at any time.
What Recon does NOT do
- It does not send your data to us or to any third party.
- It does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
- It does not read or store your FACEIT password or login credentials.
- It does not sell or transfer any data.
